Still Thinking Like A Lady

The very thought of this movie makes me laugh. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I mean it in the best of the best ways.

April 20th was my 10 year anniversary and my husband and I went to the movies. Now let me just say that I love romantic comedies. He on the other hand does not. He will watch one with me if I ask, but I hardly ever ask because I don’t like to watch a movie with someone when they keep falling asleep. LOL. He is a science fiction, action/adventure, straight up hero type of movie man. I love that about him because I have come to love those too, thanks to him.

Ok, so anyway, at his recommendation, when we get to the theater he says “let’s see Act Like a Lady Think Like A Man” At first I was reluctant because I thought it was going to be a man bash/woman bash type of movie. I was sooooooooooo wrong.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Yes, it did give up some of the secrets that men have held dear for centuries, but it didn’t let the women off the hook that easily either. What I loved about this movie is that first, my hubby stayed awake through the whole thing, LOL. Second, it really did have us laughing uncontrolably out loud. I mean I laughed liked I haven’t laughed in a long time at a movie that wasn’t a cartoon…yes, we love those too, espesically Disney Pixar. Third, this movie made you take a look at yourself and how you may be contributing to the success or downfall of any relationship, not just between men and women, but in your freindships with other people too.

All in all this movie was well balanced in my opinion. It drew your attention to the fact that men and women must be willing to compromise in the relationship to make happiness a reality. I give it 6 thumbs up, but because I only have 2, I give it two high fives. 🙂

Did you see this movie? I would love to know what you thought of it…no bashing please.

Robyn Peoples

I posted “Naturally Good” about one of our products that we create with all natural ingredients. We created this product to not only moisturize the skin, but to actually have skin renewal capabilities and softening properties.

I’m doing this post because I myself had a moment where I needed something to help with a special little rash that I developed on top of both my hands. I had my hands in some water with a few cleaning products for a couple days straight and paid the price with the skin on my hands becoming irritated.
When it first started I just dealt with it by putting some really good lotion on it, but that just wasn’t working for me. So, one day I sat down to the computer and began doing some research on some natural ways to heal the rash and make my skin smooth again.
I think I…

Summer…Smells so refreshing!

This fragrance was inspired by an old Avon fragrance that I really use to love. I wanted it to be more fresh than sweet, but one can pick up on both the fresh and the sweet. With notes of coconut, bergamot, french vanilla, woodtones, and a slight hint of amber it is one that can be enjoyed everyday.

I called it “Summer” because when I smell it that’s what it reminds me of so, I figured…why deviate from that? LOL.

This is just one of our many blends. One of my favorites to wear in the summer, not too heavy, but not so light that it disappears with the first wind.

You can get this fragrance and others at Fragrance Cafe’ on Facebook.

Going With The Flow

I just posted about our newest fragrance “Cool Jasmine.” I woke up this morning and as I was coming out of prayer time I began to smell a fragrance. What is that? I thought to myself. Then I realized that it is something trying to manifest through the creative process of my mind and olfactory senses.
So I go and get my box of premium fragrance oils and essential oils and begin to pull things out. I pulled out some fruits, citrus, spices, florals, etc…Bay Rum hmmm. Well, lately I’ve been adorning myself with “No Other Rose” and “Amber Unique” and a few other favorites from our own line of fragrance oils, but I want something with even more depth and sweetness to it. I’m trying to find that one note that when it all comes together you’ll be able to smell it, but it would make one say “what is that one thing in there?” Something that we captivate both men and women like “No Other Rose” with the same type of staying power. Something special like “Amber Unique” with more powdery notes, and maybe a little bite of black pepper, pink peppercorn, or maybe even leather.

Well, it looks like I’ll probably be working with this one for a while. I’ve had my eye on some new essentials that I absolutely must have so, maybe once I gather those up I’ll be able to dive in a little more. Until then I’m just going with the flow.

Cool Jasmine

ImageOk I’ve blended another Jasmine fragrance and I call it Cool Jasmine because this one isn’t as heavy as our Jasmine Fusion, as far as weather related fragrances go, and to me that’s what makes it Cool.

It’s pure perfume oils of Jasmine, with some woody and citrus notes, and vanilla absolute to make it a little creamy.  I like it enough to wear myself….I normally don’t wear Jasmine fragrances and my creations of them are for my clients, but I would actually wear this one too.  So, I guess you could say I now have two Jasmine Fragrances that I wear, but the thing is…..I created them :-).

Right Out of The Box!!!

I had an experience last week!  I was invited to go to the ASD Las Vegas Retail Trade Show.

I had been invited a couple of times over the last month leading up to the event and kept saying, maybe next time.  Well, apparently for me, according to God, this was my next time….My next time to step out of my “box” and into something that I’ve never done or even thought of doing before.

The first thing was that for years I’ve had a fear of a few things, and flying on an airplane was one of them.  I’ve never had a desire to fly and anytime anyone mentioned flying an automatic NO jumped out of my spirit and straight out of my mouth without a thought, LOL!   This opportunity was starring me in the face, an opportunity for me to expand my thinking, my faith, and my business all at once.

I’ve had a business for 4 years operating out of my comfy home with products that I create myself.  I’ve been looking for the past 2 years to expand and carry other products, made by other people or companies, but mostly I was just looking to expand to create another source of income within this business.

Then it happened. One night I was asked again, “do you wanna go,” and my response was the same, “maybe next time.” The next day I find out that I already have a flight ticket and room reservations to Vegas for the ASD Las Vegas Retail Trade Show.  I was so excited and with my mind racing about what to pack, what to take, where’s my Sales Tax License copy that the fact that I had a fear of flying not even crossed my mind.

When I did stop and think about the fact that I would be flying clean across the country to the West Coast all I could do was smile.  There was no fear…where did it go…I don’t know and I don’t care, LOL!  I thought about how my life has changed so much over the past 3 months and where God has brought me from and brought me to and I couldn’t say anything but HalleluYAH! and I said it a few times.

When I got to the airport I thought, “I’m actually about to board a plane.”  When the time came to board I did it without any hestitation, it was like getting on a long amusement park ride to me.  The sound of the jet engines didn’t freak me out as I’ve heard it does some people, and I think that’s because my hubby and I are drag racing fans so, being that close to one was actually thrilling to me.

I have never been that far away from home and never that far away from my husband, but the experience was something that I will appreciate for the rest of my life.  I’m thankful for the people that God has placed in my life and that they are people that are go getters with a plan for their lives that they implement daily.  I have prayed for people of like passions, and like faith that my hubby and I could be friends with and the relationship be mutually beneficial.  God has answered my prayer….I have jumped Right Out of The Box!!!! and I must say that the view from here is just great….looking forward to more adventure this year, God said He was going to do some amazing things for us this year….I believe just what He said.
