Love My Face

This is just a simple facial scrub that I actually created for myself. Pure Coconut Oil (unscented), Lemongrass EO, and Cedarwood EO. I like the way the Coconut Oil moisturizes my skin after I rinse the scrub off.

Cedarwood EO is an astringent. It’s good for acne, eczema, and oily skin. Lemongrass EO is a bactericidal, an anti-oxidant and anti-septic just to name a few. Plus I love the smell of Lemon Grass EO.

I like not having to apply pressure or scrub the scrub off my face because the product is too heavy. I made this scrub just to treat myself to something special that I know will do exactly what I need it to do and nothing extra. I have experienced a couple really harsh store bought scrub and that’s why I made this. I normally just use my little face brush to exfoliate, but like I said, this is for when I want to give myself a little treat.

What are some ways you “love your face”? Do you use anything special? Why did you choose that particular thing? I’d love to hear from you.

Cocoa Butter Almond

It’s Body Butter Folks! and I love it.

I had been wanting to create a body butter with cocoa butter for the longest time. Some of our clients like Shea Butter, but are die hard Cocoa Butter Fans. So, I wanted to offer them something else besides the normal hard Cocoa Butter that they normally buy. Now don’t misunderstand me…I’m from the “old school” and Cocoa Butter is and was a staple in my house at all times, but it can be a turn off when you really don’t wanna smell like chocolate (hard to believe right, LOL) all day.

So I just included the wonderful Raw Cocoa Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (yummy), Sweet Almond Oil, and a splash of Almond Fragrance to sweeten it up just a touch, some Corn Starch so you slide away with greasiness and VIOLA!

I put some on my skin and it melted right in. Before I could post to our clients and friends that it was ready they were ordering and coming by to pick up their little pots of goodness. I was really inspired by one client who said “I love this butter” and hoping to sell out soon…but of course I’ll just make more.
In my rush to get it out to our clients, I still have yet to take photos….so, maybe I’ll post one later. By the way, the only ingredients in this Body Butter are the ones you’ve already read about…no preservatives added. Thanks for reading.
Do you use Body Butter? What’s your favorite?

No Other Rose

A fragrance we created that is truly earthy, sweet, and strong all at the same time, it is truly No Other Rose.

For those that love the Patchouli perfume this is one to love. Those that indulge in earthy fragrances, this is one to love.

Earthy, Sweet, and strong is the best way for me to describe it to you. Earthy catches you immediately due to the lovely Patchouli fragrance, and then there is something that you at first can’t put your finger on…is it vanilla? is it caramel? what is that sweetness? LOL…the sweetness of this fragrance comes from the inclusion of both vanilla and caramel, but just a splash. Somali Rose is why it is called by its name, because I’ve never smelled another rose fragrance such as this one…It lingers for a very long time, but be careful too much will drive you batty…LOL…you only need a little. This is a favorite of mine for sure. We hand crafted this one, as is the case with all of our blends, with all pure perfume oils. It ages for about 90 days. The longer you have it, the better it gets.
You can get No Other Rose at Fragrance Cafe’ on Facebook.

OMG Moments Blog

Product Review-Alba Botanica

Hello, Every now and then I like to share information on things that I use in my daily life. Whether it be perfume, perfume oils, household cleaners or items, décor ideas, skin care, etc. I just like to share information when I find out about a good thing or a great thing just to maybe shed some light on things to others, or give them another look at something that they may already know about.
Earlier this year I bought some Alba Botanic Extra Emollient Body Lotion. Since I always wear perfume oils, I bought the unscented. I have been using this for the last 3 months and I absolutely love it. The feel of the lotion itself and the effect it has on my skin is great. I find that after a shower I don’t have to reapply latter in the day as with most commercial products, but the moisture lasts all day. I just like the way it feels on my skin so sometimes I apply more just because.
I also find that it is great for massage. I used it to give my hubby a massage and it doesn’t leave that greasy feel on the skin. The ingredients in this lotion treat my skin to the TLC that I like to give it every day. I must say that this is the best lotion I have used in a long time. I recommend it to everyone. It’s vegetarian, and all natural.

Pondering

Sitting here just really going over some things about business and this particular fragrance comes to mind.  It’s called Maya.

This fragrance was originally named for my sweet little second cousin Maya.  Maya has sickle cell and I wanted to do something special to represent her.

We created this one with pure perfume oils; fruits like banana, kiwi, grape, and papaya with a hint of musk, sandalwood, and a hint of spice.  It’s a fruity fragrance but not child like.  I must say though, that it is one that when you experience it you either love it or hate it.  Most that have experienced it loved it and that keeps me going with it.

My intention is to set up a fund in Maya’s name to help with the expenses of families with children with sickle cell.  I have been up quite a few nights praying for Maya to come home from the hospital with good news, and she has every time, but  I can’t get out of my mind that there are children and families that suffer from this disease that aren’t as blessed every time.  I know that there are other funds set up for sickle cell, but I guess I just want to do my part.

I’ve been considering recreating this fragrance and doing a little more marketing with it, but just haven’t made up my mind.  I’ve even created body butter with it and it goes over quite well when I do.   It even goes over well as a spray.  I guess I’m just at a place where I’m really desiring to do something more with this fragrance so that I can begin to do with it what I set out to do which is to honor my sweet little cousin and help others that suffer her plight as well.

A Few Good Things

Happy Monday! For those that don’t read this on Monday, Happy Whatever Today is To You! 🙂

I have decided to do a post about a couple more items that we at Fragrance Cafe’ have created that are made with all natural ingredients.

It’s a part of our “First the Natural” Body Care Line and we hope it is just the beginning of things all natural for us.

“Love My Face” Custom Shea Cream. Created to bring healing and moisturization to your skin. Originally created for my husband who suffered with sometimes inflammed, itchy, and pealing skin. Once he had a break out so severe that he shaved all of the hair off of his face…I felt so bad so, I prayed and asked God to give me something to help him, whether it was something that we could buy or something that I could create to help him. God chose the latter I went to work with research and creating. I came up with a cream and at first I was reluctant to tell him that I created something for him, but I handed it to him and said “try this on your face baby.” He began using the cream and after a week he said he loved how it made his face feel. I haven’t seen him suffer any inflammation or irritation since he started using the cream. I was so happy that he was happy.
Then a friend of his at his job complained of a skin problem and he recommended (stamp of approval for me) she try what I created for him. She did and is now a permanent client.
“Love My Face” Healing/Moisturizing Shea Cream is created for dry or combination skin that also suffers from occasional peeling, and inflammation of the skin. Ingredients: Raw African Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Apricot Kernal Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Vetiver Essential Oil, Cornstarch. We do not add any preservatives. This product is created in small batches to insure freshness. We only test on humans. 🙂

“Love My Face” Custom Shea Cream for Acne-For occasional breakouts and spot treatment, also helps with acne scarring. Formulated for night time use. Ingredients: Raw African Shea Butter, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E, Balsam Peru Essential Oil, Myrrh Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Neem Oil, Lemon Grass Essential Oil, Vetiver Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, and Cornstarch.

Our Oh My Soles Foot Balm is another treat for your feet that is made with all natural ingredients. The ingredients include Raw African Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Grape Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E, Myrrh Essential, Neem, Karanja Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and Corn Starch…good for cracked skin on heels & elbows and seals in moisturize for dry skin.

All of these are created for people that want to try a more natural approach to whatever ails them in skin care. Naturally Good Part 2

I posted “Naturally Good” about one of our products that we create with all natural ingredients. We created this product to not only moisturize the skin, but to actually have skin renewal capabilities and softening properties.

I’m doing this post because I myself had a moment where I needed something to help with a special little rash that I developed on top of both my hands. I had my hands in some water with a few cleaning products for a couple days straight and paid the price with the skin on my hands becoming irritated.
When it first started I just dealt with it by putting some really good lotion on it, but that just wasn’t working for me. So, one day I sat down to the computer and began doing some research on some natural ways to heal the rash and make my skin smooth again.
I think I was about 10 minutes in when it dawned on me “Oh my God, The Body Balm!” So, I went into the stock box and pulled out a jar. I remembered that when I created this product I wanted something that would not only be good FOR a person’s skin, but good TO the skin as well.
I smacked myself in the head as I took time to read the ingredients out loud to myself, with my chastising voice, and then unscrewed the top and liberally applied the balm to my hands.
INSTANT RELIEF from the itching that I was experiencing at the time and that all by itself was reason enough for me to keep using it. Over the next couple days I applied the balm to my hands maybe three times a day and especially after I washed my hands after a task.
I began to not only notice the softness of my hands after each use, but the discolorization from my scratching began to get lighter and lighter. Within 3 days the discolorization was gone, the itching had completely stopped, and the skin on the top of my hands was much, much, softer than it was before I had used it for the rash.
I felt so silly because in the past I kept a jar of this stuff on my coffee table to use every now and then and for clients when they come over and want to instantly try something. Turns out that I really “needed” to use it and I was so pleased with the results that now I mention to people daily on our facebook page (Fragrance Cafe’)and anytime the subject of good body products comes up in a conversation. I’m proud of this little jar of goodness….LOL…maybe I should call it that! For now I’ll stick with “Naturally Good Body Balm” because it’s made with all natural ingredients and it really is good for and to my skin. Now I must make enough to keep on stock since I talk about it so much.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment.
